History and heritage are everywhere, from the Gothic Abbey of Mont Saint-Michel to the ramparts of Saint-Malo and the D-Day landing sites.

The small town of Pontorson, less than 3 km away, also offers a wide range of amenities.

Located between Normandy and Brittany, L’Ermitage is the ideal base for cultural, culinary or sporting excursions.

The proximity of Mont Saint-Michel is a great asset. You can easily arrange a visit and enjoy magnificent views of the islet, at high or low tide and at all hours of the day. We are, of course, happy to provide you with all the information you need for this excursion.

High tides

During high tides, which occur on a few days each year, you can see Mont Saint-Michel become a true island again for an hour or two. It’s a sight well worth seeing. Along the Sélune, you can watch the natural phenomenon of the tidal bore, a large seasonal wave riding the river.

How to reach the hotel

The A84 Rennes-Caen autoroute is only a few kilometres away. The journey from Paris takes about four hours.

Pontorson railway station is only 5 km away. Regional trains connect the major TGV stations in the region, Rennes, Villedieu-les-Poêles and Dol-de-Bretagne.

Regular services from Rennes and Dol-de-Bretagne railway stations as well as Avranches and Granville arrive in the Mont Saint-Michel car park.

You have the choice of Dinard-Pleurtuit Airport, 45 km away; Rennes Airport, 75 km away; or Caen Airport, 130 km away.
